With my architect’s eye, I see the world in pallets of composition, scale, layering, light, shadow, deconstruction and organized chaos. Fashion and interior design, my lifelong companions and teachers, inspire a world vivid in colors, textures and the female form.

My recent work explores large scale fashion-inspired figures juxtaposed within the confines of suburbia, societal expectations of women’s’ household roles, body perception and personal distortion. Strength comes in the black brushwork lines against the stark white background

Kerri Ferrara is a modern renaissance woman, whose paintings are influenced by her passions for designing of interiors, accessories, clothing, graphics, set design, and photography. Her grandmother introduced her to painting when she was a child, and she began exploring it again within the past few years. Her works range from figurative to abstract, exploring mixed media, found objects, drawing and painting.

Ferrara was born and raised in Rhode Island, and received a Bachelors of Architecture from Syracuse University in 1998. After graduating she moved to NYC to pursue interior design with a focus on showrooms and corporate interiors. Ferrara’s designs have been featured in Interior Design, NY Times, Contract Magazine, Film Journal, Elle, and an episode of Law and Order. In 2003 she started her own accessory line, KFerrara Design; featuring handbags made from chair upholstery, and deconstructed vintage ties. Currently she is developing a line of hand-painted vintage bags.
