Transition and continuous movement in the stream of life is a concept rooted in my artwork. Creating on-site drawing studies, journaling, collecting data and photo documentation are all implemented into my creative process that also employs printmaking, painting and sculpture methods. I use color, line and form as elements and for their symbolic significance to nature as expressed in creative and traditional practices by native, eastern and other global cultures. I juxtapose planar and frontal space perspectives with patterns of stable hard-edged forms referencing bluffs, buttes, mountains, trees with that of moving gestural lines which are reminiscent of streams, pathways and animal track imprints. I work in a series expressing content through different media often combining the materials and techniques.
