Following a long dance career, movement is still my art! My work is inspired by dance, pride in my rich Haitian/Caribbean heritage and growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. In my work, I hope to engage you in the “dance” and bring to mind your roots, and whatever makes you smile. In my collages and chine collé, the process of layering paper is movement that builds texture, depth and an element of surprise. My work is energy and spirit – to be shared! Dance, legacy and scenes from my beloved Brooklyn make up my personal collage and what make my feet, fingers and heart dance. I am a “choreographer on canvas.”
